Also, see if they will credit your frequent flyer or frequent guest programs with points. Check ahead to make sure the company’s counter at your destination will be open when you get there. It's no use to have a car reserved when the counter closes at 10 pm and your flight lands at 10:05! If you take the time to check discount travel sites, you'll likely find the best rates.
